Metropolitan Transport
There are various means of transportation in the city.
The Collective Transportation System - Metro - is the backbone of Mexico City’s communication. It consists of 11 lines and 175 stations.

Because the Metro system is a government dependent enterprise, it only costs a cheap fee of $2.00 MXN (equivalent to less than $ 0.20 USD in all its services). In the past few years, the government has developed a decentralized transportation system called Metrobús, which currently has 2 runners, and charges $5.00 MXN per ride.

Besides the three decentralized transportation companies belonging to Mexico City’s government, there is in the Federal District a large fleet of urban buses, known as Peseros or Minibuses.
